February 1st is the fourth anniversary of Justin Trudeau’s broken promise to end first-past-the-post and Make Every Vote Count. It’s important to place that betrayal in the bigger picture. 

2021 is the 100 year anniversary of the first federal government elected on a promise of proportional representation. 

We’ve learned the hard way: on electoral reform, a committee of politicians is a recipe for paralysis and failure. We need an evidence-based, citizen-led process we can trust.

That’s why Fair Vote Canada is calling for a National Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform! 80% of Canadians—voters for all parties—support this idea. Around the world, citizens’ assemblies are driving change.
