The trucker who never left Brian Derksen was arrested by Ottawa city police on Tuesday, 31 May 2022 at around noon. Police threatened to trash and throw in the garbage his set up and amplification equipment on camera.

According to his own words police released Derksen at around 8 PM of the same day.

MONTREAL — The Canadian government trampled on fundamental human rights with its COVID restrictions, then overreached on dealing with the Freedom Convoy and must now answer to numerous lawsuits, including one by a former premier, says a well-respected constitutional lawyer.

Speaking on Montreal lawyer Viva Frei’s Youtube channel on March 25, Keith Wilson noted that the mischief charges against his client and convoy leader Tamara Lich, will not be successful. She counselled truckers to move in order to comply with police demands, not to block emergency lanes, he said.

When the Freedom Convoy set course for Ottawa two months ago, our government and the mainstream media seemingly worked in tandem to derail the conversation about the movement.  

First, they downplayed the scale of the protest. Then they smeared it before finally unleashing the full force of the state to violently shut it down. 

The truckers’ demands were simply to drop all the COVID restrictions and vaccine mandates.  

But no one in government was interested in hearing them out or conceding that the pandemic policies enacted over the past two years had anything to do with the growing discontent among the people our politicians allegedly represent.

The fact is in favour of keeping the order and respecting advice from policing enforcement units, the March decided NOT to walk on the street but remained almost entirely on sidewalks – in my point of view that says something about the lawful and orderly character of freedom marches. As you can see in my video, marching speed is fairly swift and there were not more than a 1000 participants that means entrances to businesses on the way were impeded only a very short time and besides, no places allowed for inside service anyway!

Every night @ around 8 pm, Montréalers start banging pots and pans to express their protest against la loi 78 – a Québec law recently passed in reaction to students protesting planned tuition increases. The new law makes it mandatory to inform police about demonstrations with more than 50 participants as well as the exact routing of every march.

Trixie Whitley – was für eine weit entwickelte Musikerin in Anbetracht ihres noch so jungen Lebens. Ich habe sie gesehen auf dem Montréal Festival Du Jazz, vermutlich etwa vor zwei Jahren… damals hat sie an einem Tag zwei Shows gespielt. Leider klappten einige Einsätze des ansonsten fabulösen Bassisten nicht wie geplant und ich erinnere mich, dass Trixie das live auf der Bühne kommentierte: “Fehler sind gut, da kann man draus lernen” – mit dem Kanadier Daniel Lanois am Bass scheint das ja nicht zu drohen, da alle anscheinend fließig für die neue Release üben…
